# What goes into the automated trading strategies and how do I know what triggers buys and sells?

- Trading strategies look at different market indicators like the exponential moving average (EMA), Stochastic, MACD, or RSI to indicate when to buy or sell. Some strategies will close a position (sell) based on an indicator signal while others are set up to “take profit” when a certain goal % is reached. While you can’t see all the finer details of a strategy, you can sometimes get an idea what’s in the strategy by clicking the info button within an open position. The info card will show you the strategy name and if there is a take profit goal set.
